grief + employee wellness

Next virtual workshop for DEI/People Ops/HR on April 10th is posting soon

acknowledging loss + grief

Grief needs a witness.

Few leaders know how to address employee needs around loss. While we may associate death or illness with grief, we fail to acknowledge the complexity of other losses employees face in the workplace:

  • layoffs

  • mergers/acquisitions

  • retirements

  • promotions

  • terminations

  • cancelled projects

  • reorganizations

  • betrayal

  • budget cuts

  • forced return to office

  • discontinued programs

Radius facilitates grief circles and workshops to acknowledge loss, trauma, and transitions in the workplace. These 90-minute voluntary ceremonies give language to what many of us struggle to name.

Collective grief requires collective healing.

Guidance and consultation for leaders who are anticipating or responding to sudden change is also provided.

You’ll find additional grief resources here.

mental health Education

The collective toll of the pandemic did not disappear. Anxiety, depression, addiction, loneliness, and suicide remain threats to our wellbeing - and there are no vaccines to mitigate their spread. An uncertain economy and ongoing systemic oppression further the struggle for many of us.

Radius partners with employee wellness teams, leaders and EAP programs that are committed to reducing stigma and supporting employees’ mental health.

We provide in-person and virtual education to better understand the causes, recognize symptoms, and teach strategies for coping with a variety of mental health conditions.

Lori and her team of mental health clinicians bring expertise and levity to customize programs that are highly-engaging and validating.

Who knew 90+ employees would join a Zoom call to learn about anxiety?

Can you believe a panel of seven employees agreed to generously share their mental health stories with their colleagues - in hopes of creating safe spaces and encouragement for the people they work with?

Kudos to leadership and teams who are unafraid to speak truth and lend support to those in their professional communities.

skills for People ops/dei/hr

Nobody escapes the hardships & losses of this human experience. And, some of us are in positions that have greater exposure to the grief and trauma that employees experience: folks in People Operations, DEI, and Human Resources are often the first to bear witness.

How do we create psychologically safe spaces for employees to trust us?

What tools do we have to be present and attentive when listening to a painful story of harassment or discrimination - while simultaneously following protocol?

Who supports us after we’ve waded knee- deep into the experience of an employee undergoing chemo or finding a safe haven after domestic violence?

How can we improve our capacity to set boundaries that support our compassion and protect us from vicarious trauma?

What strategies can we learn to reduce our own burnout or compassion fatigue?

Which ethics and values guide us through the painful territory of loyalty to colleagues and loyalty to company?

Virtual events are planned throughout the year to address these questions. Radius is also available to bring customized workshops to your business and provide keynotes to those on the frontlines of caring for employees.
